Vasiliy Sofronovich Piatnitski (1886–1944)

Vasiliy Sofronovich Piatnitski (1886 – 1944) is my paternal great-grandfather. He was born and lived his entire life in the village of Dorosino (historically Slutsk District of Minsk Governorate, now Lyuban District of Belarus), working as a peasant.

Our family archive preserves an old photograph of my great-grandfather. The vintage print was faded and worn over time. I digitized it and enhanced its clarity using Gemini to bring out the facial details more clearly. Both versions are displayed below: the original print and the enhanced portrait.

Author's Commentary

"In the photo, my great-grandfather wears a traditional shirt with a button at the collar. Neural enhancement removed paper scratches and made the gaze and facial contours clearer without distorting his genuine appearance."
